LiSC firewall
Access to LiSC servers is controlled by the LiSC firewall. It protects the access to all LiSC services except this website.
Connection from | Access rules |
---|---|
Networks of LiSC institutions | LiSC access from networks of LiSC institutions (e.g., University of Vienna and Medical University of Vienna) is permanenly allowed. |
Permanent access from further networks can be requested via our Helpdesk. | |
External networks | LiSC access from external institutions, mobile networks and internet providers can be requested temporarily. Each request needs to be confirmed by using the one-time link sent via email. Temporary access is granted for 12 hours and can be extended by additional requests. |
To improve the security of LiSC, we ask users with dynamic IP addresses, e.g. connecting via internet providers or mobile networks, to terminate their LiSC access after use. This ensures that other dynamic clients, which re-use your IP number, will not take over your LiSC network access. |
